Case Study

Swift - Cottingham

Creating great spaces is sometimes about enhancing what you already have….

Swift group, one of the largest manufacturers of caravans and Holiday homes in the UK chose to work with the Horncastle group as they needed an innovative solution that would support the growth and development of their thriving manufacturing site.

The key issue for Swift was the need to develop better road access to deal with significant volumes of traffic from both the workforce and goods movements in and out of the site. Instead of moving off site, Horncastle worked with them to enhance the space they already had by obtaining planning permission for the construction of new infrastructure to allow the site to be substantially accessed directly via the nearby A1079.

The Planning permissions granted include all infrastructures, the construction of new factory buildings and a new residential development on a site to be vacated by the Company.

The local council and local residents supported the proposal but there had been significant obstacles to overcome involving complex negotiations with landowners, and with both Yorkshire Water and the Environment Agency.

The Directors of Swift are keen to acknowledge that the delivery of such a challenging project could not have been achieved without the support and expertise provided by Horncastle who brought a refreshing innovative approach and a commitment to the project which ensured that any obstacles in its way were overcome.
