Goole Shipping Company Moves Onto The Ozone Business Park

January 2009

A Goole based shipping, warehousing and transportation company has moved onto the Ozone Business Park at Howden as part of an expansion of its operations.

Transatlantic UK Ltd, whose head office is in Aire Street, Goole, will maintain its presence at the Aldan Terminal, Goole, but will now store its stocks of high quality steel at the Ozone.

The company imports paper, timber and steel from clients in Sweden and transports it to customers throughout the UK and overseas.

Managing Director Nick Green said: "One of our major clients in Sweden is planning to increase their sales of steel during the next five years, so our move to the Ozone Business Park will give us the capacity to meet this increased storage demand."

"The Ozone is an ideal location for us because the steel needs to be stored in an environment where we can control the temperature and humidity. The buildings on the Ozone are highly insulated and energy efficient so this will mean shorter running times for our dehumidifiers," he added.

Horncastle Director Ian Hodges said: "We are delighted to welcome Transatlantic UK to the Ozone. They now join Image Data Systems and Warburtons on the site. With its excellent communication links and availability of skilled labour, the Goole and Howden area is developing into an important employment and distribution hub, and we are delighted that these companies have selected the Ozone ahead of other sites in the area."

The unit occupied by Transatlantic UK on the 32 acre development extends to approx 4,120 square metres (44,349 square feet) on a plot of 4.3 acres, in a high profile position at the entrance to the site.

The building has a clear span for maximum use of space and a large service yard and the potential for it to be extended by up to a further 50 per cent, if required, for future expansion.

The Ozone development - off Junction 37 of the M62 - is designed to provide up to seven units, although these can be divided or combined to create units from 10,000 square feet up to 200,000 square feet.
